The Houston Telugu Cultural Association invites you to its annual Makara Sankranthi Celebrations on January 18th (Sunday) at 2:00 PM at the Sri Meenakshi Temple ( 17130 Mclean Rd, Pearland, TX 77584).

1) Area of performance.

2) Names of all participants - Group contact mail ID and phone number.

3) Duration of your item.

4) To be inclusive of the Greater Houston Community (and universities) let us know where you live and which area you represent.

Some guidelines:

1) Please respond latest by January 11th 2009with all requested information above.

2) Group performances are encouraged and preferred.

3) Total time allotted for a group performance is 7 minutes.

4) Individual performances will be restricted to 4 minutes.

5) Only current TCA members are allowed to participate

6) Language of performance should be Telugu or Sanskrit.

Nominations are requested from the Houston Telugu Cult ural Association members to elect the office bearers of its Executive Committee for the year 2009 and one trustee to the Board of Trustees.

 

1. The TCA Executive Committee consists of seven Membe rs, including atleast two female members. The Execu tive Committee members will in turn elect the TCA President, Treasurer & oth er positions amongst themselves at a separate meeting after the elections as convenient to them.

 

2. Board of Trustees: 1 Position (3 Year Term). One me mber will be elected to the Board of Trustees.

 

A Contestant must be either a Life Member, or an Annual member (Year 2007-2008 , 2008-2009) of the TCA. TCA will hold elections for these positions at the General Body Meeting to be h eld on January 24, 2009 along with its Sankranti celebrations.

 

All nominations must be proposed by one TCA Life or An nual member and seconded by another TCA Life or Annual member. Please send nomin ations with name, contact information along with Proposer/Sec onder names to the Election Commission below by e-mail or hand delivery by meeting any one of them.

 

Last date for receiving nominations is January 08, 200 9. Late nominations may be accepted at the discretion of the Chairperson of the General Body Meeting.
